Loved walking around the old town, the 'quiet centre',...
Loved walking around the old town, the 'quiet centre', central market. We didn't plan our visits very well because all museums are closed on Monday so we didn't get to see as many as we had hoped.
We took the train out to Jurmala (beach) which was lovely but we were blessed with great weather.
Learn to say 'hello' and 'thank you' in Latvia. It goes a long way.
Latvians are very polite and we found Riga to be extremely clean.
Oh, great coffee too!

The Old Town was beautiful.
The Old Town was beautiful. Fantastic architecture everywhere. We were there in the snow and it added a beauty to the town. The huge food market was interesting and full of great foods to try. The waterways around the old town separating the centre were lovely to walk around. The bar and food scene was great and we ate and drank our way through our weekend.

Riga is a very nice city to visit.
Riga is a very nice city to visit. I personally would go in spring-autumn but winter is also good. Whether you are interested in arts, music or just walking around the place - Riga has something to offer to anyone. The National library is worth visiting even if you are not doing any research and need reading rooms, it's a very interesting piece of contemporary architecture. Theatres, music, parks, buildings - honestly, you'll never regret going

Nice view at the monuments. Some good lighting decoration.
Nice view at the monuments. Some good lighting decoration. Very lively X-mas market. Nice Cathedral. Good bus and Tram service.
Do not miss Central market. Food options. Bargain shops. Fruit shops. Everything
The hotel messaged me through Booking.com a week in advance to say that they had overbooked and to ask if I would be OK with moving to one of its sister Accor hotels in Riga. It was no problem for me to do so: the distance was about the same from the bus station (where I was arriving from Tartu), and the new hotel was in an area that I wanted to explore more anyway. The Ibis made a booking for me at the Pullman Riga Old Town hotel (for the same price), and it was very, very nice. I cannot provide a review of my stay at the Ibis, however.
This hotel was amazing - I was hesitant to stay here at first because it's not directly in the old city center but it is actually the perfect location! It's right in between the old town and the new area with all the good restaurants for locals. The room was really huge and it was decorated beautifully. The bed and pillows were comfy and there were chairs and a nice big TV with a ton of channels. The breakfast was great as well. I stay at hundreds of hotels per year and I LOVED this hotel. The spa is super clean and nice.
Bridge Hotel is really close to the City Centre - all it takes to get there is to cross X bridge or walk to national library and cross a X bridge there and you are on the old town. Also it’s pretty close to Olimpia shopping center with some food and supermarket in case you need something close. Room was a pretty minimalistic - basic bathroom, bed, table and a closet. Everything that you need to take a sleep and go sightseeing during the day. I recommend it if you went to Riga for a city break.
The location of the hotel is nice, its only 15 mins walking to the Old Town part.
Private airport transfer was on time and was great to be at the hotel within 30 mins after landing in Latvia though it’s overpriced.
Check in went well, the receptionist lady was very nice and spoke very good English.
Bed was comfortable and the curtains were really great quality to keep the room dark in the mornings.
The TV set worked just fine to watch series & news in English.
This old style, atmospheric boutique hotel is located right at the heart of Rīga's embassy district, with many good restaurants around. Old Town is within walking distance. The price of the stay was really bargain. Very helpful, experienced owner/administrator, who is willing to assist you as much as she can. She even borrowed me her own umbrella, as I was totally unprepared for some heavy rain during my time in the Latvian capital. Very recomended.
Nice modern hotel near Riga Airport. Perfect for short stay as we arrived in the evening so hotel is in reasonable walking distance 15-20min. You drop your bags and Riga old town is 15min. drive & with Bolt approx. 8 EUR. In the morning great to reach to airport in short time and no need to wait tai and worry about rush hour.
we stayed countless times in this hotel and actually coming back in couple of days. perfect location in the center of the city . gorgeous room with the old town view. very helpful staff. great breakfast in the morning. spa is amazing , but make sure it is included in room rate otherwise you will need to pay separately
The place is in good location and it was easy to walk to the Old Town and not far from the bus station either since I came to Riga by bus. The room was a bit difficult to find first but with the cheaper price it was quite nice, especially for one night. Just a bit old decoration and furniture style but it was nice.
Everything! The staff were friendly and welcoming, rooms clean and comfortable, the spa is super (pool/sauna as well as the treatments), breakfast and the in-hotel restaurant were delicious and the location is perfect - right at the Old town but close to trains/trams/airport bus stop! Highly recommend!
Hestia Hotel Draugi was perfect for our short stay in Riga. The breakfast was really good and so was our room. Small but perfect for our needs. It's in the old town, thus within walking distance from every main attraction. We would definitely recommend it!
Amazing location in Riga Center and close to old town. The hotel is very new and modern. The bed and pillows are amazingly comfortable. The WiFi is fast and excellent. The gym and sauna are decent for this size hotel. This is a great place to stay.
Nice hotel, good single room, pleasantly surprised considering how cheap it was and including a buffet style breakfast as well.
10 minute walk to the old town and nearest bars, would recommend for a short stay in Riga.
Everything was fine, nice and well equipped rooms, good breakfast. Very good location close to old town center. There is parking possible on the street in front of hotel, much cheaper than hotel parking :-)
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is good, as it was very close to Old Town Riga. The breakfast seemed to have a little something for everyone.
Nice and clean hotel for a very reasonable price, close to the old town. Easy check-in, parking nearby (5 eur/ day - which is a good price in the centre of Riga :))
I had a very pleasant stay! Great new hotel in Riga's old town. Friendly staff, very comfortable bed, great room.. I will be staying here on my next visit
Excellent, very comfortable hotel - Room was quiet, large, luxurious bathroom.
Friendly staff.
Good breakfast.
