This is one of the most asked question on my Instagram DMs. After personally responding to these messages, I thought it’d be more beneficial to have a definitive guide on how to apply for a Kyrgyzstan e-visa for Indians because as much as I’d prefer it to be, it’s not a straightforward process.
Krygyzstan e-visa for Indians Full Process
Once you know when you want to travel to Kyrgyzstan, follow these steps to apply for e-visa
Step 1: Procure documents like passport copy, digital photo, stay confirmation.
Step 2: Request for LOI (Letter of Invitation) from a local Kyrgyzstan agency.
Step 3: Fill the e-visa application form on the official website and make the payment.
Step 4: If there’s no issues with the application, you’ll receive your e-visa on your email within 5 working days.
Pre-requisite for Kyrgyzstan e-visa for Indians
Citizens of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka can apply for a tourist visa only at the invitation of one of the travel companies registered with the Department of Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic. Which means, you first need to request a Letter of Invitation (LOI) from a local Kyrgyz agency.
The only exemption to this rule is if you have a resident card in one of the following states, you can attach it instead of an invitation: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Brunei, Oman, Bahrain.
How to procure LOI for Kyrgyztan evisa
It can be done through 2 options:
- A local Kyrgyz agency can apply for e-visa on your behalf. It costs upwards of 150 USD. In case of emergencies, this is the best option as they offer 1-day visa as well.
- You request a local Kyrgyz agency for a LOI and then apply for the e-visa yourself.
I did the latter as it’s a more budget-friendly option.
I reached out to kyrgyzguidedtours@gmail.com which was suggested to me by a friend.
They charged 50 USD and I received the letter of invitation in a few days once I shared the documents and information (scanned passport copy, travel dates, place of stay, planned place of visit).
Once I received the LOI, I was ready to apply for e-visa.
What documents do you need before applying for a Kyrgyzstan e-visa?
- Scanned Passport copy
- Digital Photo
- Stay (can book a refundable stay through booking.com)
- Letter of Invitation (LOI)
- Credit/debit card to make visa payment
Note: Flight tickets aren’t required to apply for e-visa.
Apply for e-visa through the Official Website
I applied for a single-entry 30 days e-visa through the official Krygyzstan e-visa website.
Find the screenshots of the website below. It involves filling basic applicant details and details of the Inviting Organization (LOI).
Inviting Organization is easy to miss as it’s not a new screen but on the right tab. This is where you add details mentioned in the LOI. The organization name and state registration number was provided to me by the local Kyrgyz agency.
Along with my passport and photo, I also uploaded the LOI document that I received from the agency.
Once you have all these details filled, you can now make the payment.
Once the payment is done, you’ll receive an email confirming the submission of application with a reference number. Using this reference number, you can check the status of the application.
How much is the e-visa for Kyrgyzstan?
There are 3 options to book e-visa:
Type of Visa | Cost |
---|---|
Single Entry (30 days) | 4600 SOM (51 USD) |
Single Entry (60 days) | 5519 SOM (61 USD) |
Multi Entry (60 days) | 6341 SOM (71 USD) |
Additionally LOI costs about 50 USD, so overall cost of the visa is upwards of 100 USD.
Since I was traveling in the region (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan), it made sense for me to explore Kyrgyzstan as well even though the e-visa itself costed over 100 USD, which in my opinion, is relatively expensive.

Jun 4, 2024Hi,
Thank you for the detailed information.
I heard the visa rejection rate is high and they can reject your visa without giving you any reasons. Do you think its advisable to apply on your own in such cases?

Jul 18, 2024Yes there aren’t many Indians traveling there but I didn’t have any issues. All the people that I have recommended (more than 10 so far) have received visas. It’s not an issue applying on your own as long as you have all the documents in place

Aug 24, 2024How many days did it take for visa to get approved?

Oct 9, 2024Please try to keep atleast 2 weeks – usually it takes a week but if there’s an additional document requested, it might take longer. Ideally, best to apply 2 months in advance of your trip so that there’s no last minute surprises

Aug 6, 2024Hi,
I emailed kyrgyzguidedtours@gmail.com and they sent me the number of their Indian partner with a UPI number to make the payment of 50$/person. I just wanted to check with you if you did the same thing.
Thanks
